What is farming?

Farming comes in two varieties. Troop Farming and Town Hall farming. Both have the same destination, but Town Hall farming will achieve more. Farming is where you purposely lose trophies so that you will be attacked by weaker enemies, therefore keeping Resources well protected.

Town Hall Farming

The aim of Town Hall Farming it to not just lose trophies, but get free shields. Farmers purposefully leave their Town Hall with little or no defence, so it can be easily destroyed. Once the Town Hall is destroyed, the defender automatically loses the battle and trophies and is given a free shield. Farmers protect their Resources, such as DE, Gold and Elixir more than anything. You should farm if you are saving for a massive, expesive upgrade but keep on losing Resources. Also, enemies who destroy the Town Hall are weaker, more stupid enemies as they do not know about Farming and they don't knwo that that is what the defender wants, so revenge could be easier.

The Other Type of Farming: Troop Farming

This farming strategy is not advised for lower level people searching for Elixir, as it uses Elixir, albeit a little.

This method of farming is for higher level people only, as it needs some Elixir to work. People who use this method need Gold, not Elixir mostly. You shouldn't use this at lower levels as any Elixir is a lot for you, but 10,000 elixir is insignificant as you level up.

Basically, to farm like this you need troops. Lots of troops. Don't train expensive troops that take up lots of space for two reasons. They are expensive... and they take up a lot of space. Only Tier One Troops such as Barbarians or Goblins (preferably not Archers) should be used.

You need to be in a multiplayer battle for this.

Once in the multiplayer battle, get ready. Hover your finger over the 'Next Battle' button, but don't click it. Use another finger to get ready to deploy troops. Deploy a single troop at the same time as clicking the button and you automatically lose. This is a lot faster than waiting for the Troop to die, or clicking 'End Battle'. You lose 15-40 trophies, depending on the TH level of your opponent. This is a quick and efficent way to ensure you get attacked by weaker enemies, as the level of enemies attacking you is based on trophy count.

Don't use more expensive troops, like Minions or Wall Breakers for Troop Farming, as they cost a lot and are a waste.
